Second Grade End of the Year Mega Math Review

I worked my tail off the last couple weeks because I wanted to create a thorough end of the year math review pack that I could use with my second graders, and hey, maybe some of you could benefit from it too. Here’s how I set it up. I looked at all of the 2nd Grade CCSS for Math, looked at our Everyday Math program, and put together activities that address almost every single standard! (and secret tip – it’s on sale for 50% for the first 48 hours – only $5.50!) Here’s a lil’ collage I made to show the main covers and some of the inside covers.

Sorry, I am not that great at collages, but you get the idea. Here are a few sample pages from some of those activities.

Making change is challenging, but it is in Everyday Math so I included some task cards for those.

Arrays are important as an introduction to multiplication and are in those CCSS so I included several things with arrays, including Task Cards.

We worked on this at the beginning of the year and while it may seem easy, my guys need some review. In particular, we haven’t been using some of this vocabulary in a while (“numerals”, “expanded form” ) so their memory on what they mean is a little rusty.  I have some HUGE Harry Potter fans this year so I thought they would like this theme (thanks to Thistlegirl Designs)!

Ballpark estimates- my class got really good at these, in thanks to another packet I made earlier in the year, but we can use some reviewing! I made this cut and glue activity

Story problems and addition and subtraction are big in the CCSS so I have some cut and glue practice both for “easier” 1 digit numbers and also for 2 digits, with regrouping.

We worked on decomposing numbers in the fall so I have a I have Who Has Game in here as a refresher.

Now, I didn’t show you every single type of activity that is included because you’d be snoozing, but you can see a couple others in this collage:

I also set it up so each section is preceded by a page that tells you exactly what CCSS standard(s) are addressed by the next activity or activities.

Sometimes, you just need some easy, no prep printables so I included them, too. You can use them for homework, daily practice, and/or maybe assessment.
